Why golfers reach for a stick in the first place
A golf swing is a sequenced rotation: hips lead, rib cage follows, arms and club arrive last. When any link in that chain is stiff, the body borrows range from somewhere it should not, usually the lower back, and the turn gets shorter and less repeatable.
A long stick is an obvious fit because it gives you something to rotate around and a visible reference for whether your shoulders are actually turning or just sliding.
BendyFit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Stick Mobility. What follows compares the two mechanisms so you can pick sensibly.
Leverage sticks versus oscillating resistance for the golf swing
Leverage sticks are strong at deep, held end-range positions. Brace the stick, load it, hold the shape, and you build tolerance at the outer edges of your rotation. That is genuinely useful off-season work.
Oscillating resistance, the mechanism behind the BendyBar, keeps loading and unloading while you move. For a golfer that maps closely onto what the swing actually asks for: rotation under changing tension, with the small stabilisers around the hips and mid back staying awake through the whole arc. It is also why the bar suits a two-minute warmup by the cart in a way a long isometric protocol does not.
A pre-round block that fits in the car park
Roughly seven minutes, no anchor needed. The full version with tempo notes is in the golf pre-round warmup guide.
1. Pass-overs, 10 slow reps, to open the shoulders 2. Standing thoracic rotations, 8 per side, rotating from the ribs 3. Half-kneeling rotations, 6 per side, hips locked square 4. Standing hip circles, 6 each direction per leg 5. High-to-low chops, 8 per side 6. Mock backswing and follow-through, 10 per side, building speed gradually
The point of the last one is sequencing, not speed. You are rehearsing the pattern with the body already warm.
Off-day work, where the range actually gets built
Warmups unlock what you have. Off-day work builds more of it. Three sessions a week of fifteen minutes is a realistic target, and Medium resistance, roughly the 0 to 45 lb range, is where most golfers live. The golfer's rotational power series is the template: anti-rotation holds, slow chops and controlled half-swing rotations.
Anti-rotation is the underrated half. Resisting rotation is how you learn to hold the shape you have created rather than leaking it early.
After the round
Five minutes of slow pass-overs, gentle side bends and easy rotations. Nothing heroic. The goal is downshifting so tomorrow does not start from a deficit.
What a mobility tool will not do
It will not add yardage on its own, it will not fix a swing fault, and it is not treatment for an injury. Better rotation tends to show up as more consistent contact first, which is usually where amateur distance is quietly lost. If something in your back or shoulder is painful rather than stiff, see a clinician before adding load.

Common questions
Is a mobility stick or an oscillating bar better for golf?
For pre-round warmups and in-season maintenance, oscillating resistance tends to fit better because it works through a moving range in a short block. For long off-season end-range holds, a leverage stick is purpose-built for that.
How long before a warmup routine feels worthwhile?
Most golfers notice the first few holes feel less tentative almost immediately. Actual range gains come from the off-day work over several weeks.
Which BendyBar resistance suits most golfers?
Medium, roughly 57 to 63 inches and a 0 to 45 lb range, is the common starting point. Light is the better pick if you are managing stiffness or easing back in.
