How to do it
- 1Set the bar to medium tension. Take a slightly wider than shoulder-width stance.
- 2Drill 1, Anti-rotation holds: bar pressed straight out from sternum, resist for 15s per side. 3 sets.
- 3Drill 2, Slow chops: bar from high to low across your body, 8 reps per side, controlled tempo.
- 4Drill 3, Half-swing rotations: mimic a smooth backswing/follow-through with the bar, 10 per side.
- 5Cool down with 5 slow shoulder pass-overs.
What it's good for
- • Wakes up the rotational chain before a round.
- • Trains control at end ranges, not just speed.
- • Travels easily, bar fits in a golf bag.
Coaching cues
- • Quality of rotation > how hard you swing.
- • Keep your back foot grounded during chops.
- • If you feel pinching in the lower back, narrow your stance and slow down.
